AIMIM appeals to send Muslim investor to jail
New Delhi (News Report) – Matiur Rehman Aziz, an investor in Heera Group of Companies and a newspaper editor, has protested against the alleged illegal property auction by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In response to this protest, Shahbaz Ahmed Khan, a leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), who hails from Hyderabad, has appealed to the ED through a tweet to arrest Matiur Rehman. Shahbaz Ahmed Khan claims that Matiur Rehman is raising his voice in favor of the Heera Group and is exposing its hidden activities. Matiur Rehman has said in his statement that he is an investor in the Heera Group and considers the ED’s actions illegal. He says that Shahbaz Ahmed Khan, who is a leader of the AIMIM, is running a systematic conspiracy campaign against the Heera Group. He further alleged that Shahbaz Ahmed Khan had filed FIRs against Heera Group in 2018 from several people and provided free legal aid to shut down the company, which he is allegedly doing at the behest of AIMIM President Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi. The roots of this dispute go back to 2012 when Asaduddin Owaisi had filed an FIR against Heera Group, falsely accusing the company of allegedly being wrong under the slogan of “interest-free”. However, after four years of litigation on the case filed by Asad Owaisi, Owaisi faced failure and defeat. Despite this, in 2018, AIMIM’s Shahbaz Ahmed Khan once again launched a campaign against Heera Group and tried to shut down the company. Matiur Rehman has leveled serious allegations against Shahbaz Ahmed Khan, including allegations of involvement in murder, rape, looting, and other social evils. He said that Shahbaz Ahmed Khan had filed several FIRs against him in the past, but no action was taken due to lack of solid evidence.
In his statement, Matiur Rehman said that the politics of AIMIM and its workers are based on the Muslim community, but they are harming companies that strengthen the Muslim economy, such as the Heera Group. He termed it as “double politics” and said that this behavior is reminiscent of the historical traitors Mir Sadiq and Mir Jafar. He further said that efforts are being made to send Muslims who raise their voices in favor of the Heera Group to jail, which is against the interests of the Muslim community. There was no immediate official statement from the AIMIM or Shahbaz Ahmed Khan regarding this news. However, in the past, Asaduddin Owaisi had not only raised questions about the financial affairs of the Heera Group but had also tried to root it out, considering it against his interests. The 2012 FIR and subsequent legal proceedings show that AIMIM considers the operations of the Heera Group to be fatal to it.
The Heera Group of Companies, which operates on an “interest-free” financial model, has been embroiled in several controversies in the past. Investors have termed the ED’s move to auction the company’s properties as illegal. The controversy not only highlights the legal battle between the Heera Group and the ED but also reveals the clash of political and economic interests within the Muslim community. While supporters of the Heera Group call it a positive move for the Muslim economy, questions are being raised about the role of Asaduddin Owaisi and his party as to whether they are truly representing the interests of the Muslim community or are targeting such companies to maintain their political power. It is unclear at this time whether the ED will take any action on the appeal filed by Shehbaz Ahmed Khan against Matiur Rehman. Legal experts say it will be difficult to arrest anyone without solid evidence, but the dispute could escalate the political heat in Hyderabad and other areas. There are divided opinions on the issue within the Muslim community, and it remains to be seen what strategy the Heera Group investors adopt to protect their rights.
