However, she expressed deep concern that in recent times, the democratic values and the social and political fabric of India have suffered significant damage, leading the country towards the perilous path of hatred and division. She lamented that we have failed to honor and remember the contributions of our forefathers and our own responsibilities in this regard as we should have. Dr. Nowhera Shaikh emphasized that it is not just a hope but a firm belief that we will engage in constructive discussions in our gatherings, recalling the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and forefathers in a positive light. Continuing her address, Dr. Nowhera Shaikh pointed out that while we are celebrating the anniversary of our independence today, it is also a moment of introspection. However, the common people often fail to see through their deceit.
