Illegal auction of 50 properties of Heera Group during vacations
New Delhi / Hyderabad (Report: Matiur Rehman Aziz) The arrest of Dr. Nowhera Sheikh during the summer vacations in courts across the country and the announcement of suspicious auction of properties of Heera Group of Companies by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Hyderabad have raised several serious questions. Experts and Heera Group insiders believe that these actions are not only a violation of the orders of the Supreme Court but are also violating the principles of justice. During the hearing held in the Supreme Court on April 8, 2026, only 16 specific properties were allowed to be auctioned, to which Heera Group CEO Dr. Nowhera Sheikh had consented. However, the ED did not submit any detailed documents, agreements to be signed or a list of specific properties despite this clear order of the court. Instead, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh was arrested immediately after the courts were closed and the auction of 50 additional properties was announced on the MSTC website.
This announcement was made at a time when the Supreme Court’s April 8 order mentioned only 16 properties and no hearing or order had been passed on the remaining properties. According to sources in the Hera Group, this move is an example of arbitrariness of law and misuse of power. This unexpected and illegal action has raised several serious questions, as several valuable properties of the Hera Group are already occupied by Hyderabadi land mafia elements through forged documents. They include the names of Syed Akhtar Toli Chowki, Syed Moinuddin, Bandla Ganesh and their associates. It is alleged that the ED is paving the way for the auction of these properties by the same mafia elements. These 50 properties may also include lands that have been illegally occupied (encroached). They are being feared to sell by giving legal protection to these same occupants. There is also suspicion of a conspiracy to give some properties to selected people at extremely low prices, which will cause serious damage to the Heera Group and its investors.
The Heera Group has repeatedly taken the stand in the courts that efforts are being made to transfer their properties to certain classes of people at incredibly low prices. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh has made it clear before and after her arrest that she will not allow any illegal, illegal and non-transparent action to succeed. She has said that she will knock on the doors of the courts against all kinds of injustice and will get complete justice with the help of the great law of India. The investors of the Heera Group have been appealed to be patient and trust in the legal struggle. These incidents are part of the long legal and financial dispute of the Heera Group, where the ED has leveled allegations of money laundering while the group has rejected these allegations and talked about the protection of its properties and the rights of investors. The Supreme Court had allowed the auction of certain properties so that the victims could get relief, but this process should have been transparent, within legal limits and in accordance with the court orders. Serious questions are now being raised on this action of the ED Zonal Office of Hyderabad as to whether it is in the interest of investors or is it being done to fulfill specific interests? Was there an attempt to take the law into its own hands by taking advantage of the holidays of the courts? Representatives of the Heera Group say that they will fight their case in the courts with all the documents, facts and evidence and will continue the fight for justice at all levels.
