Fraudster from London, America and Canada
New Delhi (Press Release) Journalism is a transparent and clean profession which is called the fourth pillar of India, but it is sad to say that some people have tarnished the fourth pillar of democracy like journalism. Recently, an incident of fraud has taken place in the field of journalism which has tarnished the work of journalism. A newspaper ‘Ujala Punjab’, which claims to be published from London, America and Canada, which claims to be published in Hindi, English, Urdu as well as Punjabi and many other languages, whose Editor-in-Chief is Manjit Singh, cheats people in India while staying in Canada and gets the page creation and editing work of his newspaper done from India, and does not pay salaries to the directors and editors, while claiming the salaries and facilities to be the same as in Canada and abroad.
According to the information, Dily Ujala Punjab’s Editor-in-Chief Manjit Singh contacted us through email and said that we want to talk about our newspaper project in India. On talking, we came to know that we had to get the pages of the newspaper made. After some consultation, a team of eight people started working on the Urdu and English editions of Ujala Punjab. Since such a case of fraud had not happened in a profession like journalism till now, there was no scope for doubt. The editor did not ask for any advance payment. After working for months and procrastinating, when he was asked to pay the money so that the work could continue further, Manjit Singh also asked for the Bank Account Number. After giving the bank account, Manjit Singh kept sending fake transfer invoices for months so that the operators could work for more days, and kept talking about RBI guidelines. On asking, he was repeatedly told that the money would come to the account in a few days, if not, he would send the money from Punjab through his brother (who is said to be an IAS officer). In this way, months passed, due to which the operators had to stop working saying that when money is not being given, there is no point in continuing the work. For months, Manjit Singh tried to start the work several times and said that the money would come, but no money has been received yet. When Manjit Singh was fully convinced that the operators would not work without paying, he blocked the numbers of all the people in the operators’ team so that no one could contact him. It is worth noting that Manjit Singh, who committed fraud in the name of Ujala Punjab, had also sent a consent letter. Manjit Singh was born in a city of Punjab and after taking Canadian citizenship, he is doing this fraud from there and is getting the work of making pages of his newspapers done by operators from India and other countries. It is important to inform people through this news so that no one gets trapped in Manjit Singh’s scam in future. Information about this scam of Manjit Singh should be given to the embassies of London, America and Canada and the Indian High Command in those countries.
