After worship and austerities, Eid Saeed is a festival of peace and a blessed gift

Hyderabad/New Delhi – March 13, 2026 (Press Release: Mutiur Rahman Aziz) The blessed month of Ramadan, where the servant of God submits to his Lord in the form of day and night worship, recitation of the Quran, Taraweeh, Nafl prayers, charity and the austerity of fasting, has ended with a great gift from Allah Almighty. That gift is “Eid Saeed”, i.e. the festival of peace and security. It is not just a festival, but the direct result of worship and austerities, a gift from Allah, a gathering of the Muslim Ummah for peace and a message of love for humanity. These views have been expressed by Dr. Nowhera Sheikh, CEO of Heera Group of Companies and All India President of All India Mahila Empowerment Party, in a statement released today. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh said that in the context of the Quran and Hadith, the history of Islam, social and spiritual aspects and the current world situation, there is a reward for the austerity of Ramadan. Muslims practice self-discipline by fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. Allah Almighty says: “O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 183) When this austerity is completed, Allah Almighty calls it “Eid”. The literal meaning of Eid is “a festival that returns again and again”, while “Saeed” means “fortunate and blessed” and “Aman” means “peace, security and world peace”. That is, Eid Saeed Aman is the day when Allah Almighty rewards all the acts of worship performed during Ramadan. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts and stands in prayer during Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim) This forgiveness is the greatest gift of “peace” – peace of heart, peace of soul and peace of relationship with Allah. 2. Social Importance: Unity, Equality and Service to the People, Eid Saeed The festival of peace connects the individual with the community. Rich and poor, black and white, Arab and non-Arab stand together in the same row of Eid prayer. This is a practical lesson of Islam that peace is possible only when there is equality. Zakat is obligatory before Eid. It is the right of the poor. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The day of Eid is a day of joy for the poor.” On behalf of the Heera Group of Companies, I have always followed this philosophy. Our educational institutions, hospitals, orphanages and public service programs become more active on Eid after Ramadan. The gift of Eid-ul-Fitr peace is not limited to sweets and new clothes, but also includes feeding the poor, educating children, and supporting widows. 3. Message of Peace: In the global context, today the world is in the grip of wars, riots, and chaos. Muslims are being oppressed in Palestine, Kashmir, Yemen, Afghanistan, and other places. At this time, the message of Eid-ul-Fitr peace becomes all the more important. Allah Almighty says: “O you who believe! Hold fast to the rope of Allah, all of you, and do not be divided.” (Surah Al-Imran: 103) The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in his sermon on the day of Eid that “Today is a day of peace.” That is, Eid is not just happiness, but a determination to establish peace with each other. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh said that my appeal is that Muslims should forget their differences with each other and establish peace. Adopt an attitude of love and compassion even with non-Muslim brothers. Spread the joys of Eid to the poor, orphans, and the oppressed. 4. Practical program of Eid-e-Sa’id peace (recommendations) From Allama Dr. Nowhera Sheikh: Feed at least one poor family after Eid prayers. Ensure payment of Zakat and Sadaqat-ul-Fitr. Take special care of the elderly, children and women in the family. Spread the message of peace instead of hatred on social media. Workshops on "Peace and Brotherhood” will be organized in all institutions of the Hera Group after Eid. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh summarized that Eid-e-Sa’id is the gift of Allah which is the reward for every act of worship and austerity of Ramadan.
