The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) commemorated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, marking the 155th birth anniversary of the revered leader, with a special program that also celebrated the culmination of Swachhta Pakhwada. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor, along with university officials, paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, honoring his legacy of cleanliness and social reform. As part of the Swachhta Hi Sewa 2024 initiative, all Schools and Regional Centers showcased their activities undertaken during the fortnight dedicated to cleanliness and awareness. The event also recognized the invaluable contributions of Safai Mitr, who (Rakesh, Maya, and Basant) were felicitated for their dedicated service. Additionally, winners of the essay writing competition, featuring research scholars pursuing PhD programs, received certificates of participation, highlighting their engagement in promoting the spirit of cleanliness.
