Property auction begins after clear directions from Supreme Court

It is the duty of every Indian to comply with the court order: Dr. Nowhera Sheikh

New Delhi, (News Report: Press Release: Matiur Rehman Aziz) – Heera Group of Companies CEO Dr. Nowhera Sheikh has pledged full cooperation in the auction process on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after the clear directions from the Supreme Court of India. Earlier, the Supreme Court of India had directed to proceed under the PMLA Act, which was generally understood to mean that further proceedings would be initiated after the hearing and trial of the property in the PMLA court, but in the recent order of the Supreme Court of India dated November 17, it was clearly stated that the CEO of Heera Group should implement the orders of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as per my instructions. After which Dr. Nowhera Sheikh went to the ED office and signed the registration form for the bungalow located in Banjara Hills, information about this has also been given in the ED’s press release. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh had earlier gone to the ED office on October 24 to implement the property auction registration as per the ED’s demand, but upon going there, something was seen that a person who trusts the law and the judiciary of the country would definitely question. It was seen in the registrar’s office that a person named Bandla Ganesh, who had been occupying the property of Heera Group of Companies for five years while entering as a tenant, was being registered in his name. The learned Dr. Nowhera Sheikh had prohibited registration in his name and said that the bungalow should be vacated before this person. The Supreme Court has also recorded the same in its order and has said that before the auction process of each property, the illegal encroachments on the lands should be removed. The Supreme Court of India accepted this petition of Hera Group of Companies, for which the Hera Group staff seems grateful and thankful to the Supreme Court. The Heera Group of Companies, which is run by Dr. Nowhera Sheikh, has been facing baseless allegations since 2018. During the investigation of the case, the ED had attached properties worth crores of rupees, including buildings, lands and other assets located in Hyderabad, Telangana and other places. The Supreme Court of India has issued several orders in the case. Initially, the court directed that the proceedings be taken up after hearing and trial in the PMLA court. However, in the latest order issued on November 17, 2025, the court clearly stated that Dr. Nowhera Sheikh will have to implement the ED’s directions. As a result of this order, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh immediately visited the ED office and signed the registration form of a bungalow located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The bungalow, which has been auctioned for about Rs 19.64 crore, is said to have a real market value of Rs 75 crore. The press release issued by the ED also confirmed that the auction was successful and the proceeds will be used for the rehabilitation of the victims.

Earlier, on October 24, 2025, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh had gone to the ED office to participate in the auction process. However, she came across a scene in the registrar’s office that prevented her from signing. The bungalow was being registered in the name of a person named Bundla Ganesh, who has been occupying the property as a tenant for the past five years. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh raised an objection to this and demanded that the illegal occupation be removed first, and then the auction process be completed. This objection reached the Supreme Court, where the court accepted the petition of the Heera Group and ordered that all the properties be removed before the auction. The court also made it clear that the ED must carry out the process transparently and legally. The Heera Group staff thanked the court for this decision and said that it is a victory of justice. Dr. Nowhera Sheikh, who is known as a scholar and social activist, said on the occasion: “It is the duty of every Indian to abide by the court’s order. I have always believed in the rule of law and will fully cooperate with the ED. Our aim is that the investors get their rights and the case is disposed of at the earliest.” She added that the Heera Group has always prioritized transparency and will now prove it by following the court’s directions. According to a statement issued by the ED, this auction is a significant development in the money laundering case. The agency has so far filed two prosecution complaints, including a supplementary complaint. After the approval of the Supreme Court, the ED plans to auction more properties through MSTC (Metal Scrap Trade Corporation). The proceeds will be used to compensate investors, who in this case number around 1.72 lakh investors. ED officials say the process is transparent and is being monitored by the court.
