New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm at its MaidanGarhi campus, New Delhi. The celebrations began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Uma Kanjilal, followed by her address to students, faculty, staff, and representatives from Regional Centres across the country. On the occasion, Prof. Kanjilal reflected on the enduring significance of Republic Day, which marks the adoption of the Constitution of India and celebrates the nation’s democratic ideals, unity, and spirit of self-governance. She emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of India’s socio-economic progress and a key driver in achieving the national vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. Prof. Kanjilal in her address on the occasion said, "At IGNOU, our work is guided by the principles of our Constitution – justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Established to democratize education, IGNOU has consistently worked towards making quality education accessible to all, regardless of geography or circumstance.
