The role of Muslim leadership has always been important in the political history of India, but in recent decades, conspiracies against their own nation by some so-called leaders have tried to weaken the Muslim leadership. A recent speech by Obaidullah Khan Azmi, which went viral on Facebook, exposes the serious reality of how some hypocrites and traitors, joining hands with communal forces, have damaged the Muslim leadership and weakened the secular foundations of democratic parties. This article sheds light on the conspiracies against the Muslim leadership, especially the controversial and negative role of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and its chief Asaduddin Owaisi, in the light of the main points of the same speech by Obaidullah Khan Azmi.
Obaidullah Khan Azmi made it clear in his speech that some traitors of the nation targeted prominent Muslim leaders in the secular political parties of the country. He referred to former Mumbai Home Minister Arif Naseem Khan and said that he was defeated by only 428 votes because he was a shining star of the Muslim leadership. To defeat leaders like Arif Naseem Khan, traitors within the nation adopted a systematic strategy in collaboration with communal forces. According to Azmi, these traitors fielded their candidates in every constituency from where Muslim leadership was emerging or from where the voice of the nation was being raised. The result was that Muslim votes were divided, and communal forces achieved victory. This conspiracy was not limited to Arif Naseem Khan alone. Azmi stressed that in every place where Muslim leaders were raising their voices for the rights of their nation, these traitors ensured the distribution of votes by fielding 24 candidates each. He brought the secular majority community together on a communal platform through hate speeches, which harmed secular political parties. Obaidullah Khan Azmi also revealed in his speech that these so-called Muslim leaders are provided with financial support from the "back door” to weaken Muslim leaders in pro-democratic parties. This financial support is given to these traitors to prevent the Muslim leadership from flourishing and suppress their voice. Azmi called it part of a deep conspiracy, which aims to politically weaken the Muslim nation and thwart their struggle for rights.
An important point in Azmi’s speech is the reference to the press conference of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in which he claimed that Asaduddin Owaisi meets BJP’s top leader Amit Shah at 3 am. According to Kejriwal, in this meeting, Owaisi is instructed to field candidates in those constituencies in the Bihar elections where Muslim votes are decisive. Its main objective is to divide Muslim votes and give victory to the sectarian forces. Azmi showered Asaduddin Owaisi and his party AIMIM with harsh words like "traitors of the nation” and "children of Kurdoglu”. He said that Owaisi and his supporters field candidates in places where the Muslim leadership is getting stronger. This strategy not only weakens secular parties but also strengthens the sectarian parties by dividing Muslim votes. Azmi termed it a ploy that is tantamount to stabbing the nation in the back. Azmi raised an important point in his speech that the Muslim nation is not so much threatened from outside as from "internal enemies”. He said that these traitors, who call themselves Muslim leaders, are actually enemies of the nation. They play into the hands of sectarian forces for their personal interests and financial gains and silence the strong voice of their own nation. These people not only harm the Muslim leadership but also weaken the secular structure of the country.
Obaidullah Khan Azmi’s speech sends a clear message that the Muslim nation must be vigilant to protect its leadership. He stressed that we must expose the traitors who do politics in the name of the nation but in reality support sectarian agendas. The Muslim nation must unite for its rights and support political parties that believe in secular values. Azmi gave the example of leaders like Arif Naseem Khan, who is a strong voice not only for the Muslim nation but also for the entire society. He said that we must strengthen such leadership and raise our voice against the traitors who sell the interests of the nation for money. Obaidullah Khan Azmi’s speech is a moment of reflection for the Muslim society of India.
