Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh illegally occupies bungalow

Agencies help land mafia against Heera Group

New Delhi, (News Report: Mutiur Rehman Aziz) – In Hyderabad, famous Tollywood producer and Congress MLA candidate Bandla Ganesh has been accused by businesswoman and Heera Group Chairperson Dr. Nowhera Sheikh of illegally occupying a rented house, non-payment of rent, threats and forgery of documents. This controversial property is located in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, and its market value is estimated to be around Rs 75 crore. According to reports, in 2021, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh rented this house (Plot No. 15-A, Road No. 13, Site-2, Film Nagar) to Bandla Ganesh for only 11 months. It is alleged that Bandla Ganesh not only refused to pay the rent but also started using the house for commercial purposes (such as a film production office) instead of residential use. Despite the expiry of the rental period, they refused to vacate the bungalow and allegedly forged the rental agreement to make it 9 years in order to consolidate their possession of the property. In February 2024, when Dr. Nowhera Sheikh demanded the return of the house and the delayed rent, Bandla Ganesh gave her severe threats and allegedly took her into custody. Sheikh claims that Ganesh tried to attack her with the help of his goons, which put her in grave danger. During this time, Bandla Ganesh tried to use his political influence to pressure higher authorities to buy the property at a lower price. On the complaint of Dr. Nowhera Sheikh, the Film Nagar police registered a case against Bandla Ganesh in May 2024 under sections 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This action was taken on the instructions of the Director General of Police (DGP), as a case had initially been registered against him on Sheikh’s complaint. In addition, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh also filed a case with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on March 26, 2024. Bandla Ganesh has several legal cases registered against him in the past, which highlight his controversial personality. Bandla Ganesh took a loan of Rs 95 lakh from J.T. Venkateshwarlu and issued a cheque on behalf of Production Art Parameshwara, which bounced. The Angouleme Court sentenced him to one year in prison and a fine of Rs 95 lakh in February 2024. In addition, in 2019, Potlurivara Prasad was also charged with cheating and house trespass (IPC 420, 448, 506). Shadnagar police have registered a case against Ganesh and his brother Bandla Shiva Babu under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, where they insulted a doctor couple on the basis of caste.

The case was related to a land dispute, where a dispute arose over a loan. Apart from these cases, in 2017, a cheque bounce case also saw him sentenced to 6 months in jail and fined Rs 15.86 lakh. Bandla Ganesh has not denied the charges so far, while Dr. Nowhera Sheikh told a press conference: "I will get my right through legal means. This property is my hard-earned money, and no one can snatch it away.” Filmnagar police are continuing the investigation, and the property is in judicial custody due to the ED case. The case has stirred up politics in Tollywood and Telangana, where Ganesh is an active member of the Congress. More details are awaited, but the case highlights the importance of the rule of law and protection of property rights.

In a landmark incident upholding the rule of law, Dr. Nowhera Sheikh, CEO of Heera Group of Companies, stopped the illegal registration of her Film Nagar property in the name of Tollywood actor and producer Bandla Ganesh. The registration was attempted at the Sub-Registrar Office (SRO), Banjara Hills, but Dr. Nowhera Sheikh strongly objected, citing violation of Supreme Court orders and PMLA rules. The officers confirmed that no registration was done following Dr. Nowhera Sheikh’s legal objection during the scheduled sale deed process on October 24, 2025. She was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to comply with the Supreme Court order, but on reaching there, she found that the ED officers were proceeding without the mandatory legal process of the PMLA. Records show that Bandla Ganesh has been illegally occupying the property since 2022. Despite the rent being over, they refused to vacate, did not pay the rent, and posted misleading videos on social media claiming the house as theirs. Eviction proceedings (OS No. 782/2024) and several complaints are still pending. The image of the land mafia of Bundla Ganesh is causing great harm to the public, the government and government departments should pay attention to it.
